Perennial herb to about 50 cm tall, spreading from thick rhizomes. The flowers are light to deep blue with purple lines. Grows in marshy meadows and around moist lake margins in southeast Alberta and south to New Mexico; occurs sporatically in BC but probably introduced. Also known as Rocky Mountain iris.
